Jagdeep Dhankhar in Doha: Emir grateful for contribution of Indians to FIFA World Cup shine

The Vice President, Jagdeep Dhankhar, highlighted the Emir of Qatar’s appreciation for the contributions of Indian workers during a diaspora event in Qatar on Monday. Reflecting on his recent interaction with the Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, during the FIFA World Cup inauguration, Dhankhar conveyed the Emir’s gratitude for the skilled contributions of Indian human resources. The Emir expressed satisfaction with Indian companies for their role in driving development in Qatar, a sentiment that Dhankhar described as a significant achievement.

Dhankhar, addressing the Indian community, emphasized the substantial presence of 8 lakh Indians in Qatar and their noteworthy contributions to both Qatar’s ongoing development and India as a whole. He praised the Indian ethos, highlighting the commendable balance that Indians strike between their birthplace (janambhoomi) and their workplace (karambhoomi).

Furthermore, Dhankhar spoke about India’s remarkable progress under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, noting that the Prime Minister, in alignment with the nation’s civilizational ethos, advocates that war is not the solution to any problem. He also celebrated India’s recent ascent to becoming the world’s fifth-largest economy, expressing optimism that India would achieve the milestone of becoming the third-largest economy in the coming decade.
